Marbella sun is already in your skin. The question is how much
Between 80% and 90% of visible facial ageing is attributed to accumulated sun exposure rather than to time passing. Most of that damage sits in your skin years before it surfaces in the mirror. The scanner sees it now.

Ageing and photoageing are not the same thing
Chronological ageing is what would happen anyway: collagen production declines gradually and predictably from your mid-twenties. Photoageing is different — it is damage, accumulated, caused by ultraviolet radiation — and it accounts for most of what people recognise as a face "getting older".
UVB works at the surface: it burns and triggers pigmentation. UVA reaches the dermis and degrades collagen and elastin fibres — and it passes through glass, so it accumulates while you drive, sit on a terrace or work by a window, not only at the beach. Marbella has over 300 sunny days a year. The dose is high even if you never deliberately sunbathe.
What matters is that this damage accumulates silently. Pigmentation forms at depth long before it becomes visible at the surface, and by the time it shows in the mirror it has been there for years. That lag is precisely the window in which something can still be done — and it is the whole reason this analysis exists.
Seeing the damage before it shows
The UV image is the part of the scan that surprises people most. It shows subclinical pigmentation: melanin deposited below the surface that has not yet come through.
Subclinical pigmentation
The map of spots you cannot see yet. It is the most actionable information in the whole session: this is the part that can still be influenced by protection and routine.
Exposure asymmetry
Almost everyone shows more damage on one side of the face — the driver’s side. Seeing it in an image is more persuasive than any amount of advice about sunscreen.
Elastosis and texture
Degraded elastic fibres show up as a characteristic thickened, leathery texture. The scanner quantifies it rather than leaving it to impression.
Age comparison
How your accumulated damage sits against what would be expected for your age. Sometimes that is reassuring. Sometimes it is the reason someone finally starts protecting daily.
What you leave with
Your real sun load
Measured, not estimated from how you look on a Tuesday in good light.
What is reversible and what is not
Surface pigmentation responds. Established elastosis is managed. Knowing which side of that line you are on changes where it makes sense to invest.
A concrete photoprotection strategy
For the actual climate here: which filter, how much, how often to reapply, and what to do on cloudy winter days — which is when nearly everyone stops.
A written 12-month plan
Including which times of year suit which steps. In this climate, seasonality matters.
Price
The skin analysis is €40 and takes 20–25 minutes. The €40 comes off your first treatment or skincare purchase in full — sun protection included. If you live on the Costa del Sol and have never had your accumulated damage measured, this is probably the best value scan we do.
Frequently asked questions about sun damage
I always wear sunscreen. Is this relevant to me?
Yes, and it is usually revealing. The UV image shows damage accumulated across decades, including childhood and the years before daily protection was normal. It also shows the areas people consistently miss: temples, ears, neck and décolleté.
Can sun damage be reversed?
Some of it, not all. Surface pigmentation and much textural damage respond to treatment and a consistent routine. Established deep elastosis is managed more than reversed. We will tell you which is which in your case, without promising results.
Is this the same as a mole check?
No. This is a cosmetic skin analysis, not a medical screening. We do not examine moles or look for lesions. If we see anything we think warrants medical assessment, we will say so and recommend you see a dermatologist.
When is the best time to do it?
Any time works, but autumn is particularly useful: you have just accumulated the summer’s exposure, and ahead of you are the months when many pigmentation treatments are better scheduled.
